Behind the scenes…

Our volunteers keep this library humming.  They come and go quietly; you could miss them, except for all the work they leave done.  The plants are all happy, the pencils are sharpened, the new books are tidily covered and ready to be put out.  And then there’s Don, one of our Friends of the Library, who comes so often and deals with the hundreds (thousands?) of donated books people give us, whisking them away and categorizing them, putting them out on the shelves for people to buy in our “Book Ends” nook in the lobby.   People give the books, Don does his thing, people buy the books — and voila!  The Friends have money to fund all our library programs, for children, teens and adults.  Call it recycling, call it transformation; call it generosity in action — call it a lot of work from Don!  I call it the magic of community.  Thanks, everybody.
