Noise happens (joyfully)

I remember going to Burlington’s original Carnegie library as a child; it was so quiet you could hear the clock ticking as you walked up the stairs. If you spoke above a whisper, you were likely to get shushed.

Things have changed a bit.  If you get too rowdy, we may ask you to tone it down a bit, but you may have noticed we’re not a “shushing” kind of library.

Well, this coming Saturday afternoon (May 8), it will be even a bit noisier than usual. Our monthly “Music in the Stacks” performance will liven things up considerably from 2pm to 3 pm. Local accordionist Curt Tveit will be playing some foot-tapping music: a mixture of polka, Cajun, rock and roll, and more.

Our apologies in advance to anyone comes in looking for a little peace and quiet! Let us know, and we’ll open up a study room for you.
