Libraries are often the starting point for big life changes. I was reminded of this, and very touched by it, when a friend shared a family story on Facebook.
She remembered a day when her younger sister rushed home from school and demanded to be taken to the library. She’d met a new friend at school who was deaf, and she wanted to check out a book on sign language, so she could talk to him. Now fast forward a few years. My friend had just returned from the wedding of her little sister and this “schoolmate,” watching them sign their vows to each other as they became man and wife.
Even as a child, this new wife had known that the library was the place to go to find life-changing information. How can we help you?
