Summertime, summertime, sumsumsummertime…

Around here, it’s all about summer reading programs.  Janice blogged about the kids’ programs (see below), but I want to put my oar in for the adult summer reading program–because why should the kids have all the fun?

Summer reading is essential for the young folk, but it’s important for us not-so-young-anymore folk, too.  It’s just a little encouragement to say, “Hey, it’s summer, time to relax a bit, learn a bit, play a bit.”

Our theme this year is Quench Your Thirst.  It’s an easy, fun program in which you earn prize entries for writing brief book reviews and for attending water-themed programs.  The Grand Prize is an all-day whale-watching trip for two, donated by Island Adventures in Anacortes!
