Speaking of generous donations…

The temptation of shiny new books!

Are you a library user that sometimes just can’t wait for us to get our copy of the latest, greatest best-seller? Do the stacks of shiny new books at Costco sometimes seem too tempting to pass up? We avid readers here at the library understand, and we have a way to make you feel virtuous about your “just can’t wait to have it” reading habit.

Once you’ve read the book (probably in less than 24 hours, right?), you can donate it to the library! We can put a bookplate in the front letting everyone know about your generosity. If we don’t have the book yet, your donation will be a great addition to the collection, and you’ll be helping us make the most of our reduced book budget. If we already have the title, your donation will become “copy 2,” and the holds waiting list will go a lot faster. Either way, it’s a win-win for the library.

So remember your library the next time you give in to temptation.

P.S.: this works for audiobooks and DVDs as well!
