May 20-26, 2012 is Small Business Week

Happy Small Business Week!

To celebrate, we thought we’d remind you of the many online resources for small businesses your library provides (cause heaven knows, they need all the help they can get.  Share this with the businesspeople you know!).

One of our databases, the Small Business Reference Center, is always available in the library and from home with your library card.  Click here to log in from home with your library card.

Here are just a few of the topics covered:

Coaching an Employee                                  Conducting Successful Meetings

Doing Business on eBay                                Hiring the First Employees

Interviewing a Candidate                             Marketing Your Business

Presenting to Customers                              Reacting to a Changing Market

Running a Thriving Business                        Selling a Business

Starting & Running a Nonprofit                  Starting a Business From Home

Starting a Business With Less Than $1,000

Tax Deductions                                                 Working with Difficult People

Click here for a link to all of our online business information sources.

And spread the word: Burlington business owners may get library cards at no charge.  Bring in your property tax statement, sale agreement, business license, or other document that shows your name and legal ownership of the property, in addition to photo ID.
