Do you know TED?

Do you know TED?

TED is the Internet’s answer to BPL: it’s your hub for information and ideas, online.  If you want a steady stream of inspiration, education, and subjects to bring up that will make you sound really cool, TED is your source.   TED began in 1984, and today offers over 900 videos of free talks by educators, scientists, performers and more: anyone with “ideas worth spreading.”

It’s known for the quality of its presentations and for the Ted Prize, “awarded annually to an exceptional individual who receives $100,000 and, much more important, the granting of “One Wish to Change the World.” After several months of preparation, the wish is unveiled at an award ceremony held during the TED Conference.”  There’s much more coolness, too: worth the time to explore the website and blog.

TED recently published a list of the top 20 most-watched talks to date.  It’s interesting to see what made the list; the #1 video was watched more than 13 million times.
